Try out interactive quizzes and games in this year's National Day Parade (NDP) mobile app and you could win tickets to the show.
The NDP Jalan! app takes users to various locations, such as the Civic District and Singapore Botanic Gardens, to complete quests on Singapore's history and heritage, some of which involve augmented reality.
Launched today, it was jointly developed by the NDP 2018 organising committee and interactive technology company Sky Optimum Technology.
Partners include the National Arts Council, the Singapore Botanic Gardens, as well as museums and performance spaces.
Lieutenant-Colonel Mikail Kalimuddin, the committee's deputy chairman of branding and publicity, said that this year's app is a departure from previous ones which were aimed at providing information.
There are three themes - Arts and Culture, Nature and NDP - with 20 quests each for the first two themes.
With every five quests completed, players can redeem discount vouchers from sponsors, which include food and beverage outlets.
Singapore citizens and permanent residents who complete 20 quests can enter a ballot for tickets to the actual show.
The app will be available for download until Aug 9.
