SINGAPORE - A white Lamborghini was gutted by a fire that broke out in its engine compartment on Monday (Oct 5).

The incident took place outside luxury car dealer EuroSports Auto's Lamborghini showroom along Teban Gardens Cresecent at around 12.30pm.

A video submitted by Mr Vignesh Raj showed several passers-by looking on from a safe distance as the back of the car was engulfed in flames.

The 22-year-old electrical engineer told The Straits Times that he was walking back to his office nearby after lunch when he spotted the fire.

"It (the fire) lasted between 10-15 minutes before help arrived. I also heard what sounded like a mini explosion from the car when it first caught fire," he said.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force said it dispatched a fire engine, red rhino and two fire bikes to the scene, and put out the fire using a water jet and hose reel.

No injuries were reported.
