Forum on GE 2015 for NUS students

The Singapore Forum on Politics and Policy will be hosting a forum on the 2015 General Election, titled A Conversation with the Candidates, which is intended to provide an avenue for students from the National University of Singapore to meet the candidates and hear the respective parties' positions on critical issues.


IMF chief on 2-day visit to Indonesia

International Monetary Fund managing director Christine Lagarde kicks off a two-day visit to Indonesia today, during which she will hold consultations with President Joko Widodo and Bank Indonesia governor Agus Martowardojo, among others. She will also take part in a high-level conference in Jakarta and a townhall meeting with university students.


S'pore Savings Bonds: Application open

The first Singapore Savings Bond will be issued on Oct 1 but interested investors may apply for this issue from today.

Interest seems to be growing for the product, with the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) receiving many calls on the bonds. At 4.30pm today, MAS will post a notice on the Savings Bonds website at www.sgs.gov.sg/savingsbonds detailing the amount of bonds on offer and payout schedule.
