Quality service awards for F&B staff

More than 2,200 food and beverage service professionals from 64 firms will be honoured for their quality service at the Excellent Service Award (EXSA) 2015 ceremony today, organised by the Restaurant Association of Singapore (RAS) and supported by Spring Singapore. Five outstanding individuals will also be vying for the RAS EXSA Super Star Award - the highest accolade for a person who has delivered unsurpassed service.

China kicks off 'Golden Week' holidays

Today is China's National Day, marking the start of its "Golden Week" of holidays.

The annual break is expected to see record tourist numbers this year as many have combined their Mid-Autumn Festival vacation on Sunday with the week-long National Day holidays by taking leave from work earlier this week.

Another dip in property prices likely

Another price decline is expected in the private residential property sector for the third quarter as the Urban Redevelopment Authority releases its flash estimates today. If so, this will be the eighth straight quarter of decline, coming on the back of a 0.9 per cent fall in the second quarter. Experts are tipping a 4 to 6 per cent price drop for the full year.
