Australian PM visits Indonesia

Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull will visit Indonesia today, seeking to improve ties with an important neighbour after relations were badly strained by spying rows, executions of drug convicts and tough asylum-seeker policies during his predecessor Tony Abbott's time in office. The visit is important for both sides due to vital trade links and cooperation on counter-terrorism, and as China becomes more assertive in the region.

New MRT maintenance centre

Public transport operator SMRT is offering a first-hand look at its new Maintenance Operations Centre at the Bishan depot.

The centre was set up to oversee all maintenance-related matters and to improve reliability along the North-South and East-West MRT lines.

Companies release quarterly results

Some of the biggest names in the local stock market including telco Singtel will be releasing their latest quarterly financial results today.

Analysts will be closely watching commodity trader Noble. The company has seen its share price dive by nearly 70 per cent over the past year, after being attacked by short-sellers on its accounting practices. It has managed to mitigate the damage over the past month, with its share price rising in recent weeks.
