Workplace safety leadership course

NTUC secretary-general Chan Chun Sing will launch a Workplace Safety and Health leadership programme and address recent workplace safety incidents at a conference today.

The leadership programme is a joint collaboration between the National Trades Union Congress, the Employment and Employability Institute, and the Singapore Institution of Safety Officers .

Xi begins Vietnam visit

Chinese President Xi Jinping will begin a two-day visit to Vietnam today amid heightened tension in the South China Sea that has weighed on ties between the neighbours. During his visit, Mr Xi will meet the country's leaders, including Vietnamese President Truong Tan Sang, according to Xinhua. The two sides will also sign a host of agreements on infrastructure, economy, trade, investment, culture and education.

Redas marks 56th anniversary

The Real Estate Developers' Association of Singapore (Redas) is holding its 56th anniversary dinner today.

The guest of honour is Minister of Finance Heng Swee Keat. The dinner's theme is that collaborative partnerships are key to the stability of the property industry.
