With more spaces designed for teens by teens, teenagers are increasingly involved in the development of library areas that they can call their own.

'The Teens' Mezzanine' at Pasir Ris Public Library caters to the reading and learning needs of teenagers. Conceptualised by the Inspiring Readers Society, members designed an ideal space for their peers. The space encourages teens to work together through group activities, discussion and brainstorm sessions. The new space also features a doodle wall for teenagers to engage in knowledge-sharing activities.

Over at Jurong Regional Library, there is a stage for open-mic gigs for vocalists to showcase their talents. Dubbed ‘Verging All Teens’ or ‘V.A.T.’, this is also a space
created by teens.

For the wired generation, the PIXEL Labs@NLB at Jurong and Tampines Regional Library allow users to get their hands on creating multimedia content with cameras and
editing tools.
