SINGAPORE - Wisma Atria is one of Orchard Road's main shopping malls, but the site where it stands used to house Wisma Indonesia - a building with a Balinese-style roof and carved murals which until 1982 housed Indonesia's embassy, national airline Garuda's office and a hotel popular with visitors from the country.

Meanwhile, underneath Singapore's main shopping street runs a canal which carries rainwater out to sea, while the road itself got its name from the nutmeg and fruit orchards which were once located there.
