Minister for Foreign Affairs Vivian Balakrishnan will be addressing the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York.
The 71st session of the UNGA started yesterday and will end next Monday.
In previous years, Singapore has used the platform to speak on issues such as terrorism and the needs of small nation states.
Dr Balakrishnan will also attend other meetings, including the 9th Ministerial Meeting of the Global Governance Group, the Informal Asean Foreign Ministers' Meeting and the Foreign Ministers segment of the Major Economies Forum on Energy and Climate Change, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs yesterday. He will be accompanied by senior ministry officials.
