Vivian Balakrishnan wraps up introductory visit to Brunei

SINGAPORE - Minister for Foreign Affairs Vivian Balakrishnan has wrapped up his two-day trip to Brunei, the first of his introductory visits to the region.

He had an audience with Brunei Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah on Monday (Oct 26). The Sultan reaffirmed the special relationship between Brunei and Singapore, and welcomed the close cooperation between both countries. He also expressed the hope that both countries would continue to work together to address regional and global challenges.

Dr Balakrishnan also held meetings with Ambassador-at-Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade Princess Hajah Masna, Senior Minister in the Prime Minister's Office Crown Prince Al-Muhtadee Billah, and other Bruneian ministers, where they touched on bilateral cooperation and regional developments.

He returned to Singapore on Monday night.
