Video shows trishaw passengers telling elderly rider to go 'full power' at Clarke Quay

SINGAPORE - A video posted online showing seemingly drunk foreigners telling a trishaw rider to go faster has caused a stir.

In the three-minute video, one of the men on the trishaw is heard asking the trishaw rider to go "full power," and another is heard saying "full muscle".

The video shows the men being taken around Clarke Quay.

The video was posted on YouTube, and picked up by citizen journalism site Stomp. While many people were angered by the treatment of the trishaw rider who appeared elderly, some said the rider appeared not to mind.

Others also said that this kind of behaviour is common in Clarke Quay, which is home to several pubs and clubs that serve alcohol.

Trishaw riders can be commonly seen plying the Clarke Quay area, where there are many tourists.
