Traffic came to a standstill on the Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE) in the direction of the Pan Island Expressway (PIE) at the Bukit Panjang Road entrance during the morning rush hour on Thursday.

This was due to a vehicle breakdown, according to traffic alerts on the OneMotoring website.

Photos from readers showed commuters caught in the jam alighting from buses and walking away.
