TO MARK the coming Chinese New Year, which is the Year of the Horse, SingPost will introduce a set of stamps with horse designs on Friday.

This latest set is the seventh in the series, issued yearly to depict the 12 animals of the Chinese zodiac.

A complete set of three stamps will cost $2.01, while the limited edition collector's sheet costs $16.80, said SingPost in a statement yesterday.

They can be bought at post offices, the Singapore Philatelic Museum and SingPost's online shopping portal vPOST.

The stamps were designed by local stamp designer Leo Teck Chong, who has done others in the Zodiac series.

SingPost also said it will offer lower postage rates for greeting cards mailed between Jan 10 and Chinese New Year, which falls on Jan 31.

While it usually costs more than $1 to mail a card overseas, customers will pay 55 cents at most during this period.
