Two new bus routes in third quarter, 215 new buses added under BSEP

Two new bus routes will be rolled out in the coming months under the Government's $1.1 billion Bus Service Enhancement Programme.

The first is the Jurong West City Direct service, which will be run by ComfortDelGro Bus. A new feeder service will also be introduced in Woodlands in the third quarter of this year.

Under the programme, a total of 215 new buses have been added to the roads as end June to improve 101 existing bus services and introduce 12 new routes.

The Land Transport Authority's group director for public transport Yeo Teck Guan said in a statement on Thursday morning that plans are on track to deliver around 280 buses by the end of this year, more than half of the 550 committed by the Government under the plan to improve the bus network.
