Two men arrested for suspected involvement in Woodlands robbery

SINGAPORE - Two men - aged 53 and 58 - were arrested by the police for their suspected involvement in a robbery at Woodlands Centre Road on July 30.

At 8.30pm, the victim, 23, was at a bus stop in Woodlands when the duo robbed him of his valuables, including his mobile phone, and fled.

Officers from the Jurong Division arrested the 53-year-old suspect at Block 4A Woodlands Centre Road on Tuesday (Aug 9).

His accomplice, a 58-year-old man, is being investigated.

The 53-year-old suspect will be charged in Court on Thursday (Aug 11). If found guilty, he can be jailed for three to 14 years, and receive at least 12 strokes of the cane.
