Two men arrested for separate cases of robbery

SINGAPORE - Two men suspected of robbery were arrested on Sunday (May 1) just hours after the crimes were reported, police said.

Police received a report that an armed man had demanded for money and mobile phone from a woman at Cantonment Close at about 5.30pm on Sunday.

The suspect was traced and nabbed within two hours, and the stolen mobile phone was recovered.

Also on Sunday, a case of robbery with hurt was carried out near Redhill Close.

A 72-year-old man was robbed of his wallet at a lift lobby and reported the case to the police on Sunday afternoon at 1.10pm.

The victim reported that he was hurt in the process.

Officers searched for the suspect in the vicinity using a description given by the victim, and images from Police cameras.

Police officers arrested the suspect at his home at Redhill Close at about 3pm on Sunday.

If convicted, the suspects face jail terms and caning.
