Truck bursts into flames on PIE; no injuries reported

SINGAPORE - Motorists were caught in a peak-hour jam on the PIE, after a truck caught fire near Bukit Timah on May 7.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it was alerted to the fire on the expressway towards Tuas at 7.45pm. The incident happened before the Eng Neo Avenue exit.
SCDF said the fire was extinguished using a water jet and there were no reported injuries.
In a video posted on the SGRV Facebook group, the front of a stationary truck, situated on the left lane of the expressway, is seen engulfed in flames.
From a distance, black smoke can be seen billowing from the truck. A police car, two fire engines and several firefighters are also seen at the scene.
The three leftmost lanes of the expressway are seen cordoned off, with a line of vehicles moving slowly on the two rightmost lanes.
The Land Transport Authority posted on social media platform X at 7.50pm that there was congestion along the PIE towards Tuas after Eng Neo Ave, with congestion stretching till the Stevens Road exit because of an accident.
Investigations are ongoing.
