SINGAPORE - Train service between Lakeside and Clementi has resumed, SMRT updated at 11.40am on Tuesday.

There was no train service between Lakeside and Clementi stations due to a train fault at Jurong East station, SMRT had said earlier.

The transport operator also said on Twitter that trains heading east between Joo Koon and Jurong East stations were delayed by 20 minutes.

A free bus service between Lakeside and Clementi stations has ceased.

According to an SMRT statement, one of their trains lost traction power, causing it to stop just before Jurong East station.

SMRT said that another train was used to "push out" the stalled train to the platform so that commuters could alight safely at the station.
