SINGAPORE - The Singapore Road Safety Council will present the Singapore Road Safety Awards in the second quarter of this year.
There are three new categories - companies with a fleet of buses that are 19-seater and above, safe driver (vocational licence) and most improved driver (vocational licence).
The fourth category recognises companies with heavy vehicles that have an unladen weight of over 5,000kg.
The awards recognise companies with heavy vehicle and bus fleets that promote road safety by having safety policies in place and providing appropriate training to their drivers, said the council's chairman, Mr Bernard Tay.
"The Safe Driver and Most Improved Driver (awards) are to recognise companies' vocational licence drivers that maintain good driving records and display safe driving behaviour on the roads," he added.
Interested companies and vocational licence drivers can download the application form from www.srsc.org.sg.
