SINGAPORE - Singapore Airlines (SIA) frequent flyers can use their miles to redeem flights on Scoot and Tigerair from April.

KrisFlyer members will also be able to collect miles when flying on the two other carriers starting later this year.

The tie-up is the latest initiative by airlines within the SIA group to work more closely to deal with tough rivals.

Scoot is SIA's long-haul budget arm while Tigerair which operates regional flights is about 56 per cent owned by SIA.

The airline's senior vice-president, marketing planning, Lee Wen Fen, said: "Scoot and Tigerair are already important parts of the SIA's group portfolio of airlines. Including them as KrisFlyer partners is a natural development and will help us live up to our promise to constantly offer more benefits to our members."
