Serious accidents involving power-assisted bikes soar

SINGAPORE - The number of serious accidents involving power-assisted bicycles have soared, according to Transport Minister Khaw Boon Wan.

In a written reply to a parliamentary question from Non-Constituency MP Dennis Tan, Mr Khaw said on Monday (March 14) that there were five such fatal accidents and 22 that resulted in injury.

The respective figures in 2014 were two and four, while in 2013, they were one and five respectively.
