Sengkang LRT East Loop train service stopped briefly

SINGAPORE - The Sengkang LRT East Loop train service was disrupted briefly on Monday afternoon.

The Land Transport Authority (LTA) tweeted at 2.21pm: "No #Sengkang LRT East Loop train service. Free bus rides avail at designated bus stops."

The train service resumed shortly after, but the free bus rides are still available, LTA said.

Ms Tammy Tan, senior vice-president of corporate communications at SBS Transit, said that the train service was disrupted "due to a power fault".

She added that full service resumed less than half an hour later, and that affected commuters were able to continue their journey on shuttle buses.

" We apologise to affected commuters for the inconvenience caused. Meanwhile, we are investigating the incident," she said.
