SINGAPORE - SBS Transit bus services in the Chinatown area will be diverted on Jan 31 due to road closures for an official light-up ceremony for Chinese New Year.

Fifteen bus services - 2, 12, 33, 54, 63, 80, 124, 143, 145, 147, 166, 197, CT8, CT18 and CT28 - will be affected from 2pm to 11pm.

Instead of the usual routes, the services will skip eight bus stops along Eu Tong Sen Street, New Bridge Road, Outram Road and Upper Cross Street.

The three Chinatown Direct bus services - CT8, CT18 and CT28 - will be extended that evening until 12.30am, with the last bus departing from the bus stop along Eu Tong Sen Street, after Hospital Drive.

Train services on the North East Line and Downtown Line will also be extended by half an hour that day.

Services on the Punggol and Sengkang LRT systems will be extended to coincide with the last train arrivals on the North East Line.
