RydeX app off to 'a good start' with 2,000 trips made by 6pm yesterday, says CEO

Home-grown hailing app firm Ryde tapped into the growing private-hire car market yesterday to jostle with Grab and fellow newcomers.

Ryde chief executive Terence Zou said the new RydeX app had catered to 2,000 trips by 6pm. "It's a good start," he said. "But I think there is obviously a lot of room for growth. We aim to corner 10 per cent of the market by the year end, which I think is quite doable."
