SINGAPORE - The stretch between Scotts Road and Bideford Road will be closed from 6pm to 11pm on Saturday for the second Pedestrian Night.
The road closure extends some 660m from shopping centres Ion Orchard to Ngee Ann City for the night.
The roads from Mount Elizabeth Hospital leading towards Orchard Road - between Nutmeg Road and Orchard Road - will also be closed at the same time, said police in a press release on Friday.
This is to facilitate Yoga Beat, a mass yoga event featuring 1,000 participants who will stretch and pose to hip hop beats and live music. It is the second event of Pedestrian Night, which runs every first Saturday of the month for five hours. Pedestrian Night is organised by the Orchard Road Business Association and aims to inject more buzz into the shopping belt.
During the road closures, only police and emergency vehicles will be given access to the roads. Parking restrictions along the peripheral roads will be strictly enforced and vehicles found parking illegally and causing obstruction will be towed away, added police.
The public may contact the organiser on 8119-6359 for further enquiries.
