Proportion of ageing buses on Singapore’s roads grows, bucking green transport trend

SINGAPORE - Older buses are plying the roads for longer, as private bus companies hold off on replacing them with newer and cleaner models.

As at end-September 2022, buses that are more than a decade old made up 34.9 per cent of the total population of 17,907 buses, up from 30.6 per cent at the end of 2020. The figure includes public and private buses.
