SINGAPORE - Bicycle-sharing firm ofo has signed an agreement with tour agency Star Holiday Mart to create cycling tours highlighting Singapore's heritage, art, food and night scene.
The cycling programmes, aimed at visitors to Singapore, will exclusively use ofo's bright-yellow bikes. There will also be promotions available only on the ofo app for tourists.
The partnership will begin with a customised cycling tour for 100 tourists from South-east Asia.
Both ofo and Star Holiday Mart expect to see more than 100 tourists taking part in such cycling tours on a monthly basis.
"In order to inspire tourists to visit Singapore, it has always been key for us to provide an excellent experience at every touchpoint," said Mr Dominic Ong, the managing director of Star Holiday Mart, a subsidiary of Japanese travel group JTB.
"This collaboration with ofo enhances their visit and provides them with an eco-friendly alternative in Singapore while getting an up-close view of our attractions."
Mr Lawrence Cao, ofo's Asia-Pacific business head, said: "We see ofo's partnership with Star Holiday Mart as a strategic move for us to transform holiday experiences in highly urbanised cities like Singapore."
He added: "We hope that by creating customised and unique travelling experiences, we can reignite tourists' interest in Singapore and allow them to experience the country's charm beyond its typical tourist spots."
Founded in 2014, Chinese firm ofo - which raised more than $700 million in its latest round of funding in July - currently has about 10 million bicycles in 150 cities worldwide.
