New Seletar flyovers to ease Lentor Avenue jams to open on Saturday

SINGAPORE - New flyovers in the Seletar area will be opened on Saturday, Nov 28, improving travel between Yishun and the Seletar Aerospace Park (SAP) to the Central Expressway (CTE).

Motorists travelling from Yishun and the SAP will be able to connect directly to the CTE and Yio Chu Kang Road via Seletar West Link (Yishun Ave 1) instead of travelling on Yishun Avenue 2 and Lentor Avenue. This will ease the existing heavy traffic conditions along the latter stretch.

Those travelling in the opposite direction will be able to use a new exit, Exit 16, that connects the CTE to Seletar West Link.

In a news release on Tuesday, the Land Transport Authoriry added that a new slip road connecting Yio Chu Kang Road to Seletar West Link via the flyover will also be opened.

In January 2015, the stretch of Yishun Ave 8 between Yishun Ave 1 and Yishun Ave 6 was opened, allowing motorists to take a direct connection from Yishun to Seletar West Link.

The LTA has also widened the stretch of TPE between Seletar Flyover and SeletarAerospace Flyover and SLE between Seletar Flyover and Lentor Avenue.

The existing Yio Chu Kang Flyover has also been widened from three lanes to four lanes in both directions.
