With the plunge in air travel arising from the coronavirus outbreak, airlines have welcomed the measures for the aviation sector announced in the Budget on Tuesday.

Flying an Airbus-A380 plane from Shanghai into Singapore would typically cost Singapore Airlines (SIA) about $6,300 to land at Changi Airport. But the carrier will get a 100 per cent rebate now on the landing fee, with the same offer extended to all other scheduled passenger flights coming in from cities in mainland China.
This, along with a series of other measures for the aviation sector announced in the Budget on Tuesday, has been welcomed by airlines hit hard by a plunge in air travel arising from the coronavirus outbreak.
