Transport operator SBS Transit will resume its asset renewal and preventive maintenance works on the Sengkang and Punggol Light Rail Transit (LRT) systems on March 4.

These works started in January but were stopped for the Chinese New Year festive period, said SBS Transit in a statement yesterday.

The works, including replacement of the power rail and works on the signalling cables, will continue to be carried out on Sundays during passenger service hours.

LRT services will still be available at all stations, with the Light Rail Vehicles running as usual in one direction during the maintenance period.

Posters will be put up at the LRT stations to keep commuters informed of the maintenance works that will be carried out, said SBS Transit.
