SINGAPORE - There are better ways to protect the interests of consumers and improve competition in the trade than impeding the Grab-Uber deal, according to experts and industry players.

Premier Taxi managing director Lim Chong Boo said ideally, app providers should focus on delivering a superior platform which matches supply and demand, while taxi and private-hire operators compete on pricing and service.
