GE2015: SBS Transit to extend operating hours for rail lines and selected bus services

SINGAPORE - SBS Transit will extend operating hours on the eve of Polling Day (Thursday, Sept 10) for its North East and Downtown MRT lines, as well as its Sengkang and Punggol LRT lines.

The train services will be extended by about 30 minutes, the public transport operator said in a statement on Monday (Sept 6).

On the North East Line, the last train towards HarbourFront will depart from Punggol Station at 12.02am.

The last train towards Punggol will leave HarbourFront Station at 12.30am.

Services on the Punggol and Sengkang LRT systems will also be extended to coincide with the last train arrivals on the North East Line.

The last train on the Sengkang LRT will depart from the Town Centre Station at 1.05am, while the last train on the Punggol LRT will depart from the Town Centre at 1.07am.

On the Downtown Line, the last train in the direction of Bugis will depart Chinatown Station at 12.14am while the last train towards Chinatown will leave Bugis Station at 12.16am.

To complement the extended train service, SBS Transit will also extend the last bus timings of 26 bus services at their respective bus interchanges.

The services are: 51A, 60A, 63M, 181, 222, 225G, 228, 229, 232, 238, 240, 241, 243G, 261, 269, 282, 291, 292, 293, 315, 325, 333, 334, 358, 359 and 410W.

Last week, the other public transport operator SMRT also announced that it would extend services on its rail lines and selected bus routes.
