Free maritime heritage exhibition launched at start of Singapore Maritime Week

SINGAPORE - The first Maritime Heritage Exhibition here, which charts the transformation of Singapore's sea activities, was opened on Sunday by Transport Minister and Second Minister for Defence Lui Tuck Yew.

Held at the Marina Bay Sands Event Plaza until Friday from 10am to 9pm daily, the free exhibition showcases artefacts, interactive presentations and multimedia displays. It is organised by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore and its partners.

The new exhibition is part of this year's Singapore Maritime Week, which was also launched on Sunday and runs till Friday. It features 30 events including conferences, dialogues and social events.

The series is in its 10th year. Some 54,000 public participants and both local and international delegates from port authorities, companies and educational institutions are expected to attend the week's events.

New additions to this year's calendar include a maritime technology conference, a leadership programme and a roundtable discussion for senior management at port authorities.
