SINGAPORE - Those travelling to and around the Singapore Sports Hub on Saturday should expect delays and heavy traffic because of multiple events being held there, the Hub said in a statement on Thursday.
The Barclays Asia Trophy will be held in the National Stadium, the third-place match from 6 pm and the final from 8.30pm, while a concert by South Korean band Big Bang will be held in the Singapore Indoor Stadium. Doors will open for the concert at 4.30pm for standing guests and 5pm for sitting ones.
Additionally, the OCBC Aquatic Centre will be closed all day for a dress rehearsal for the Ministry of Education's Youth Celebrate! event, which will be held on July 26 to celebrate Singapore's 50th birthday.
Car park 5 at the Kallang Leisure Park will also be closed because of the National Day Parade rehearsal in the Hub.
The Hub advised visitors to use public transport as pre-sold parking tickets for the day have been sold out. The Hub is directly accessible from Stadium MRT station and is 600m from Mountbatten station, both on the Circle Line, and there is a 600m sheltered walkway to the Hub from Kallang station on the East-West Line. Patrons can also use bus services 10, 14, 16, 70, 70M and 196.
The Hub added that one of its three taxi stands would be closed and advised visitors to expect delays in getting a taxi.
Patrons were also advised to head to the Hub early, as well as to heed traffic advisories and advice from traffic wardens around the venue.
