The scheme to help food delivery riders switch from e-scooters to electric bicycles, personal mobility aids or bicycles may increase demand for e-bikes, but retailers say more stocks may come in only from next January.

The stocks of electric bicycles in Singapore are probably insufficient to meet the demand sparked by the scheme to let food delivery riders trade in their e-scooters for up to $1,000 to buy e-bikes.
Because more units are likely to come in only after next month, retailers said they are hoping the authorities will extend the period for the scheme.
