SINGAPORE - About half of ComfortDelGro's taxis were unable to process bookings or accept cashless transactions on Wednesday, after telco StarHub began experiencing intermittent disruptions to its mobile network from the morning.

According to the transport operator, mobile data terminals processing bookings and cashless transactions in about half of its taxis were affected by the disruptions in the mobile network. ComfortDelGro has about 16,800 taxis under the brand names Comfort and CityCab.

"The service disruptions, which first started at about 11am, also affected Starhub mobile users trying to book a taxi via our app," Ms Tammy Tan, group corporate communications officer at ComfortDelGro, said in a statement on Wednesday. As of 7pm on Wednesday, the affected services had been fully restored.
