SINGAPORE - Certificates of Entitlement (COE) ended higher across the board on Friday (Feb 24) following news of heftier taxes for high-end motorcycles and a probable dip in the Open COE supply.
COE for cars up to 1,600cc and 130bhp finished at $49,430, up from $48,401. COE for cars above 1,600cc or 130bhp closed at $50,621, up from $48,209.
Open COE, which can be used for any vehicle type but ends up mostly for bigger cars, ended at $51,000.
The Government announced earlier this week that the motorcycle COE category will no longer contribute to the Open category, which derives its supply from a 10 per cent contribution from each of the other categories.
Motorcycle premium closed at its second-highest level of $6,801, up from $6,412. Commercial vehicle COE ended at $49,810, up from $48,901.
The latest tender was delayed for two days pending the announced changes to motorcycle taxes and Open COEs.
