SINGAPORE - Certificates of entitlement (COE) ended mostly lower in the latest tender on Wednesday, with the exception of motorcycle premiums.
COE for cars up to 1,600cc and 130bhp fell from $67,089 two weeks ago to close at $65,889. COE for cars above 1,600cc or 130bhp dipped from $74,389 to $74,000.
Open COE, which can be used for any vehicle type but ends up mainly for bigger cars, posted a substantial fall. It slid from $76,904 to finish at $73,990.
Commercial vehicle COE however, took the biggest tumble, falling from $60,001 to hit a three-month low of $52,100.
Motorcycle premium crept up from $4,210 last fortnight to close at $4,312.
Industry observers said the softer premiums may be a reflection of a bleaker economic outlook for the year ahead as oil prices continue to tumble.
