Bus crashes into bus stop outside Yishun MRT, no one hurt

SINGAPORE - A double-decker bus operated by Go-Ahead Singapore crashed into a bus stop outside Yishun MRT station on Wednesday (May 24) afternoon.

In a video posted by Twitter user PardonDix on 1.16pm, visible damage could be seen on the upper deck of the bus, which hit the roof of the bus stop.

A spokesman for Go-Ahead Singapore told The Straits Times that the accident involving bus service 85 occurred at 1.08pm.

No injuries were reported and a team was deployed to ensure the safety of commuters and facilitate smooth onward travel, added the spokesman.

Services on the route were unaffected.

A YouTube video by user Maxson Goh showed the removal of the damaged bus later that afternoon.

A large hole and cracks in the upper deck's windshield could be seen.
