SINGAPORE - The Bukit Panjang LRT system has fully resumed service, nearly 24 hours after an electrical fire brought it to a standstill on Monday evening.
Operator SMRT Corp said Tuesday free public bus and bus bridging services will continue to operate until further notice.
Commuters travelling on the LRT will not be charged for their journeys until noon on Wednesday.
"We deeply apologise for the inconvenience this disruption has caused," said SMRT Trains managing director Lee Ling Wee, adding that "a full investigation" is being conducted on how and why yesterday's incident - the latest in a spate of breakdowns - happened.
