SINGAPORE - An accident involving six cars, a taxi, a lorry and a motorcycle caused a massive jam on the Central Expressway (CTE) towards the Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE), just before the entrance of the Cairnhill Tunnel, on Friday (Feb 19) morning.

The Land Transport Authority (LTA) tweeted at about 9.50am that the accident happened after the Bukit Timah Road exit, informing road users to avoid lanes 1 and 2.

At about 10.13am, the congestion was said to have stretched until the Ang Mo Kio Avenue 5 exit.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) was alerted to the accident at around 9.30am, and two ambulances were dispatched to the scene.

A motorcyclist and taxi passenger were conveyed conscious to SGH, said a police spokesman. Police investigations are ongoing.
