Train services on the North-East Line towards Harbourfront station were delayed for 25 minutes on Tuesday morning around 8.45am, said SBS transit. It was earlier reported that the delay was from 9.15am.

One of the trains had to be manually driven at a reduced speed after developing a fault at Dhoby Ghaut station, said senior vice-president of corporate communications Tammy Tan. The cause of the fault is currently being investigated.

The faulty train was removed from service at Harbourfront station and service was back to normal by 9.34am, not 9.40am as was earlier reported.

Commuters also reported slow moving trains on the East-West line this morning and trains stopping frequently. However, SMRT's Twitter feed had no information about a disruption or delay in train services.
