A cable fault was what likely caused the train service disruptions along the North-South line on Saturday, said SMRT in an update posted on its Facebook page.
The rail operator had said earlier that "a loss in traction power" caused the disruption which occurred between Kranji and Yew Tee MRT stations at about 12.30pm.
Train service resumed at about 2:05pm, and interim free bus bridging services between Yew Tee and Woodlands MRT stations ceased at 2.54pm.
SMRT engineers are still conducting investigations, and "will rectify the issue after operation hours".
