Trailer driver arrested after crashing into tree along PIE; 2 motorcyclists injured

SINGAPORE - Two motorcyclists were injured and a driver of trailer was arrested after an accident along the Pan-Island Expressway on Friday night (June 8).

Police said they were alerted to the accident along PIE towards Changi Airport, after the Bukit Batok and Ayer Rajah Expressway exit.

The motorcyclists, aged 28 and 37, were conscious when taken to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital, said the police spokesman.

The driver of the trailer, a 37-year-old man, was arrested in relation to the case, the spokesman added.

The Straits Times understands that the driver of the trailer had lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a tree. Meanwhile, the two motorcyclists behind the trailer also lost control and skidded.

Police investigations are ongoing.
