SINGAPORE – Two people were taken to hospital after a multi-vehicle crash on the AYE on July 10.
The accident led to lane closures and a massive jam on the expressway.
The police and Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said they were alerted to the accident, which occurred near the Clementi Avenue 6 exit towards Tuas, at about 11.10am.
It involved a trailer, a van and two cars, the police said.
A 45-year-old male van driver and a 45-year-old car driver were conscious when taken to the hospital, they added.
The SCDF said one person was taken to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital, while the other to the National University Hospital.
The Land Transport Authority alerted motorists to the accident on social media platform X at about 11.15am, urging them to avoid the first to third lanes.
It added that there was congestion extending up to the Buona Vista exit.
In photos and a video posted on Facebook, a van with a badly damaged bumper and its door ajar can be seen stopped in front of a trailer.
Police investigations are ongoing.
