Tipper truck driver skids in Turf Club Avenue, spilling soil across 3 lanes

SINGAPORE - A tipper truck filled with soil skidded and flipped on its side in Turf Club Avenue on Saturday afternoon (June 30), spilling its contents across the three-lane road.

The police and Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) were alerted to the accident in Turf Club Avenue towards Kranji Road at about 1.30pm.

SCDF said that a man with minor injuries refused to be taken to hospital.

Police investigations are ongoing.

A video of the aftermath of the accident shared on Facebook shows the truck on its side on the road.

Soil could be seen strewn across three lanes as traffic behind came to a standstill.

A man in a black shirt could be seen sitting on the grass patch at the roadside.

The Straits Times understands that the tipper truck driver had lost control of the vehicle and skidded.

The Land Transport Authority tweeted at about 2.30pm on Saturday that there was an accident in Turf Club Avenue towards the Seletar Expressway.
