Tigerair to launch four weekly direct flights to the Maldives next year

From January, budget carrier Tigerair will launch four weekly flights to the island nation of the Maldives, a popular destination among honeymooners and beach lovers.

To celebrate the launch, Tigerair is offering a promotional fare of $133 (inclusive of taxes) for a one-way flight from Singapore to Malé, the capital city of the Maldives.

The promotion is available for booking from today through to Dec 1, and is valid for travel between Jan 24 and Sept 20 in 2014. The flight time is 4 hours and 35 minues.

The move also makes it the first budget carrier to offer such flights from Singapore. The only other airline currently offering direct flights from Singapore to the Maldives is Singapore Airlines.
