* Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and President Barack Obama traded toasts at the White House state dinner paying tribute to strong ties and the achievements of both countries. 

* Swimmer Joseph Schooling will not participate in the men's 200m butterfly at the Olympic Games, choosing to put his focus on his pet 100m fly as well as the 100m freestyle events. 

* The isolation order imposed on Sunny Heights Day Care Centre, that came after an increase in the number of suspected leptospirosis cases linked to the centre, has been partially lifted.
