The hunt is on for the most value-for-money hawkers.

The Retail Price Watch Group has launched an online contest where the public may nominate and vote hawkers who sell the tastiest but most affordable fishball noodles, chicken rice, mee rebus or nasi briyani. Besides hawker centres, the hunt also applies to hawkers in coffee shops and food courts.

To nominate, users may upload photos of their favourite dish or hawker stall explaining why they think the stall is value-for-money via a Facebook app (http://apps.facebook.com/hawkerhunt). The contest will close in six weeks after which all nominations and votes will be collated and shared on Retail Price Watch Group's website and Facebook page.

Participants who send in nominations and votes will stand a chance to win weekly prizes of shopping vouchers worth $100 and $20 respectively from Sept 6 to Oct 18.
