Teen duo allegedly behind spate of vehicle thefts in Jurong West

Two teenagers believed to be involved in a spate of vehicle thefts were arrested along Jurong West Street 64 early Wednesday morning, the police said in a statement later in the day.

The authorities had received several reports since late July of motor vans and lorries being stolen from a multi-storey carpark along Jurong West Street 64.

The duo, aged 17 and 19, were caught at about 12.30am while entering a stolen van at the multi-storey carpark of Blk 676 along the same street. Investigations showed that the suspects are believed to be involved in at least four similar cases of theft of vans and lorries in the vicinity.

In its statement, the police advised members of the public to secure their vehicles with anti-theft devices and not to leave their vehicles unsecured.
